Women’s cell
Women’s Cell was formed in the academic year 1990-91 and was inaugurated on August 19, 1990 by Walter Andrade, S.J, and the former Principal of our College. The Women's Cell will look after the welfare of the Girls students, facilitate redresses of their grievances and shall cater to the issues/ grievances concerning Girls. The Cell will also conduct a various activities like seminar, competitions etc, within the organization and collect suggestions/ recommendations from girls on issues concerning them so that appropriate action could be taken in the matter with a view to helping them.

The Women's Cell would promote all round development of the girls in the Institute. There is a committee which cater to the needs of the girls. The Committee shall make annual report to the management about the complaints on sexual harassment of girls in the institute and action taken for redresses of complaints, to review the state of preparedness to deal with complaints.

The Committee shall investigate reported cases of commission of acts of sexual harassment of women, if any, in CPRI and submit its report to the disciplinary authority recommending action to be taken against the accused student.

The Primary objective of the cell at that time was to inculcate values in the minds of the girl students.

It helped them in realizing their self-worthiness and responsibilities towards their family and society.

So the programmes concentrated on personality development, duties of a girl, training in assertiveness, human sexuality etc.

During the course of time, programmes focused on Statues of Women and Human Rights. The cell participates in rallies and protests organized by the women’s groups in the city.

We create awareness among girls of their rights and to help them fight for it and thereby empowering them.

Women’s Cell is one of the vibrant non-academic associations in our College and it is a member of the Women’s wing of the All India Association of Christian Higher Education, Delhi. Back
