St. Joseph's Evening College organized a one-day National Conference entitled "National Conference on Contemporary Research and Innovation in Computer Science" on December 16, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It aimed at addressing the growing demands of Technology and Research through interaction between learners, professionals, research scholars, industrialists, and experts. It served as a platform to cover advanced facts and approaches to computer science and technology. It provided a forum to discuss and present emerging ideas and trends in this highly challenging research field.
Mrs. Annie Syrien, Coordinator of the Conference, welcomed the gathering. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Prof. M. Hanumanthappa, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Applications, Bangalore University. He delivered the keynote address. Rev. Fr. Manoj D'Souza, Director of St. Joseph's College of Management, presided over the function. He delivered the presidential address. Mr. Naveen Chandra G C, Director of Ibottics IT and ITES Services, was the guest of honour. Fr. Maxim Dias S J, Principal, St. Joseph's Evening College, gave some important insights into learning aspects in technology. Prof. Joy Alex, Vice-Principal, St. Joseph's Evening College, made the event more auspicious through his valuable support.
The first technical session was chaired by Mr. Naveen Chandra G C who spoke of advanced technologies in artificial intelligence. The second technical session was chaired by Mr. Subhas SN from Appseco. He spoke on the latest advancements in network security and recent issues in networks. The third technical session was chaired by Mr. Arun Kumar Thangavelu from Vellore Institute of Technology. He gave us an insight into the latest trends in IOT. This was followed by paper presentations at two different venues headed by session chairs Dr. Manish Kumar from MSRIT and Dr. Kavitha S from Dayananda Sagar College.
The conference witnessed the presentation of nearly 40 research papers. 34 of these were selected for publication in the International Journal of Engineering and Techniques. The conference altogether had nearly 200 participants. The conference ended with a formal valedictory programme and certificate distribution. The Chief Guest for the Valedictory Program was Dr. Rohit Fernandes, Senior Software Engineer from Google. He addressed the gathering on AI-related machine learning algorithms and advanced technologies in the industry.
