Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
St. Joseph’s Evening College has been offering a three year undergraduate course in Commerce since its inception. The objective of the course is to provide students with the skills necessary to work in fields relating to management and business. The curriculum has been designed in order to train students in adopting an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the contemporary business environment. Papers such as Accounting, Taxation, Economics, Statistics, Auditing, Finance and Marketing increase the students’ competencies in marketing, finance, business and commerce studies.
Apart from improving the students’ knowledge and skills on subjects relating to business and commerce, the course also strives to provide education that enhances the holistic development of the student. This includes providing guidance in research, holding conferences and guests lectures that expose students to new thoughts and ideas from various disciplines, and improve the language and comprehension skills of the students. A paper on business ethics has been introduced to ensure that students develop into ethical business professionals, committed to contributing to the creation of a just and compassionate society.
Documents Required for Admission
1. SSLC or 10th Standard, or its equivalent, marks card (Original).
2. PUC or 10+2 marks card (Original).
3. Transfer Certificate (Original).
4. Migration certificate for the students coming from outside Karnataka and CBSE/ICSE students (Original).
5. 6 Passport size and 2 stamp size colour photographs.
