The Convocation Ceremony for the students of the 2013-2016 batch of St. Joseph’s Evening College was held on December 22, 2017 in the Loyola Hall of the college. A total of 230 students from M.Com, B.Com, B.A (HEP, and JPS), B.B.A, and B.C.A received their Convocation Certificates in the presence of friends, staff, and family. The evening began with a prayer-song and the College Anthem rendered by the college choir. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries of the evening. The honoured task of introducing the dignitaries and welcoming the gathering was taken up by Dr. Kanishka, the programme coordinator. The chief guest for the evening, Dr. S. Japhet, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore Central University, then delivered the convocation address. This was followed by messages from Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph SJ, Rector and Vice-President of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, Rev. Fr. Maxim Dias SJ, Principal, St. Joseph’s Evening College, Mr. John Baptist, the Alumni Representative, and Ms. Kavin, who represented the students. It was then time for the dignitaries to distribute the convocation certificates. Japhet, was felicitated by Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph, Rev. Fr. Maxim Dias, and Professor Joy Alex, Vice-Principal, St. Joseph’s Evening College.
