Every year June 5 is celebrated as the World Environment Day. But this year’s event is different from other years due to the Corona Pandemic situation.

Almost everywhere globally, people are confined to the four walls of their homes due to lockdown and seal down, which were frequently used in Industries such as down tools, lockout. The COVID-19 virus prompted these downs.

The NSS Unit of St Joseph’s Evening College came out with a unique way to express love towards Mother Nature. Staff and NSS volunteers of SJEC were asked to take up an activity of planting saplings in a pot or near their house. They were requested to send the pictures of the same. Apart from the above activity, NSS in collaboration with AICUF organised competitions such as photography, quiz, poster making to commemorate World Environment Day.
