The Department of Psychology organised a workshop on exam stress and anxiety on 18th September, 2019 from 7 to 9 PM for undergraduate BA students and MA Journalism students. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ninoy Rodrigues, a trained counsellor and workshop facilitator. He was welcomed by Dr. Rekha Ahuja, H.O.D, Department of Psychology.
Mr. Ninoy began his session with an ice breaker. Following this, he explained the interaction between an individual’s thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Through various activities, Mr. Ninoy explained learning practices that would reduce exam stress and help students prepare for their examinations more efficiently. This included effective time management, organising group study sessions, studying the more difficult topics first, and taking a break so that one does not feel overwhelmed. He also explained the importance of experiential learning rather than simply memorising information.
The workshop was very helpful to students as it provided simple yet useful tips in reducing stress and improving study habits.
