First Hopkins Lecture Series for the semester organised

On November 24, 2019, The Department of English, organised the Hopkins Lecture Series at Faber hall in St. Joseph’s Boys High School for students of MA English and EJP. The lecture series was on the topic, “Politics of Representation in Colonial Print Advertisement”. The resource person was Dr. Anupama Nayar from Christ University. Dr. Nayar highlighted the differences between the representation in print advertisements prior and post colonial period, and the politics of the representation.

“Through this lecture series, I was given the bigger picture on how actually the politics evolved in our Indian atmosphere with our land being vibrant and colourful yet politicizing out culture, ethnical ideas, and racism,” said Judeson CGS from I MA English
