It was feast and celebration time at St. Joseph’s Evening College on August 17, as the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organised the Springlight Annual Gala, a charity event to commemorate the first anniversary of Springlight, the campus newspaper. The gala featured food fest and photo booth as part of its celebration.

The food fest that boasted of over ten stalls and food items comprised of the humble chicken biriyani, pani poori and other chat items,Tibetian momos,chicken nuggets, milkshake, pineapple-cheese-cherry dessert, nachos masala, dosas, paniyaram, among others. Students were seen flocking to different stalls and relishing flavourful food. The photo booth that featured colourful frames with meaningful messages such as Gender Equality and Save Water, also was a big hit, among the students. Nearly Rupees 7,000 was raised by the gala which will be donated to a charity organisation soon.
