The Management at St. Joseph’s Evening College & the Women’s Cell organized a seminar for the newly admitted women students of BA, B.Com, & BCA on July 8, 2017. The objective of the seminar was to promote awareness on issues related to women’s health.
The program began at 7 pm. Sr. Saly Joseph, Head of Department, Department of Journalism, welcomed the chief guests from St. Philomena's Hospital, Bangalore, Dr. Nidhi & Dr. Shan.
Dr. Nidhi addressed the gathering on the topics of women’s health, nutritional deficiencies, and related problems. Women often work day and night to take care of others and fail to pay attention to own health. She highlighted the issues of vitamin A deficiency, protein deficiency, calcium deficiency, obesity, anemia, and being under-weight. She stressed the importance of a healthy lifestyle, reproductive health, and mental health. Dr. Nidhi and Dr. Shan also spent time addressing the concerns of the students. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks.
