Investiture ceremony

St. Joseph's Evening College (Autonomous) conducted the Investiture Ceremony on 30th June 2018 at St. Joseph's Boy's High School auditorium. The grand ceremony witnessed the newly appointed Council comprising of cultural secretaries, sports secretaries, association secretaries, class representatives and association representatives taking their solemn oath to serve the College with diligence. The event was organized by the Student Council Coordinator, Mr. Prashanth Kumar. Mr. Jeffin Lijo, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Ms. Thara T, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration were the MC’s for the program.

The Program commenced with an invocation dance by Naveen from B. Com, followed by a prayer song and the College Anthem by the college choir. As a symbolic gesture of spreading life, the dignitaries along with the Student Council representatives lit the lamp. Dr. Albert Joseph Smith, Principal, St. Joseph's Evening College (Autonomous), in his welcome speech, welcomed the dignitaries present on the stage, and spoke about the “Meaning of Leadership.” He mentioned that “Leadership is not an act, it is a way of life.” He also congratulated the elected members of the Council. Mr. Prashanth Kumar, Lecturer, Department of Economics, briefed the gathering about the significance of the occasion and administered the oath-taking ceremony for the Student-Council Secretaries in the presence of the dignitaries. Rev. Fr. Arun Prashanth D’Souza, Director, St. Joseph's Evening College (Autonomous) spoke about the “Qualities of Leadership.” Ms. Jessy Thomas, the Chief Guest for the event, shared how a leader is one who leads the group. This was followed by a speech by the Guest of Honor, Br. Binu Mathew. Ms. Megha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony came to an end with everyone lending their voices to the National Anthem.
