Biography :
Dr. Kanishka K is a founding member of the Department of Business Administration at SJEC. Right from its inception, (2009) he is been serving has a senior faculty and heading the Department. He also holds an additional charge as a Dean and Coordinator at MBA Twinning Program, Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society. He is specialised in education, industrial relations, personnel management, human resources management, research methodology and political science.

He has a rare distinction to be the only faculty at SJEC to get UGC Sponsored minor research project (MRP) titled “Challenges faced by youth in accessing higher education in Bangalore Urban District” and successfully submitted submitted on 30th November 2015 to UGC (SWRO). He has a wide experience of participating, presenting and publishing at various state, national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. In 18 years of teaching career he has participated, presented and published at over 70 conferences and journals. He has attended three research methodology capacity building programs at Institute of Social and Economic Change and Post-Graduation Research Institute of Management Studies, Kuvempu University.

As head of department, he has a played pivotal role in building the department by taking various progressive initiatives which has accelerated and given distinctive qualitative impetus and quantitative outcome to stakeholders. Some of the significant initiatives taken at department during his stint are: Department newsletter, Students exposure to various industries, Industry interface through series of guest lectures, Hosting conferences, Fostering research culture, Supervising student research paper and report publications, Innovative teaching-learning-evaluation process.

These initiatives have significantly augmented the cognitive, emotional, psychomotor competitiveness among students community. His passion, persistence and perseverance towards offering quality, creative, innovative and distinctive higher learning are well received by the stakeholders. He is a voracious reader, prolific writer, passionate articulator and an excellent organiser.

His contribution towards institution has been multi-dimensional, overarching and succinctly pervaded all facets and added significant value to academic and non-academic processes. He has served has a coordinator of NAAC (III Cycle), IQAC, Twinning program, Research cell and also significantly contributed as a member of Governing body, Academic council and Finance committee. Serving has a member of BOM & BOE of St. Joseph’s community college and chairman BOS & BOE of department.

MINOR RESEARCH PROJECT
UGC Sponsored minor research titled “Challenges in Higher Education-A study with reference to youth in Bangalore Urban District” (Ref. no. - MRP (H)-1770/11-12/KABA068/UGC-SWRO) was sanctioned to Dr.K.Kanishka K - Principal Investigator through the Department of Commerce and Management, St. Joseph’s Evening College. The MRP was sanctioned on 10th July, 2012 and came into effect on 3rd January 2013. The MRP was successfully completed & submitted on 30th November 2015 to UGC (SWRO), Bengaluru.
