Department of Kannada

Department of Kannada is designing the curriculum keeping in view integrated and comprehensive growth of students, familiarizing them with Kannada culture and usage of the language. Sections from Kavyas (Classical works) starting from poet Laurate Pampa till the modern times have been included in the curriculum. Likewise different kinds of essays, plays, short stories and novels of modern writes, have also been incorporated.

Department of Kannada has always been encouraging the students to participate in extracurricular activities. The department conducts inter class and inter collegiate literary completions.

Kannada Sangha was established to create an awareness of Kannada language and culture among the youth. The forum strives for the cause of Kannada language, culture and heritage. It conducts interclass competitions regularly and grandly celebrates Kannada Rajyothsava every year. ‘Kannada Sangha’ organizes ‘Kannada Habba’, a one day festival, under a unique, culturally enriched title.
