Guest Lecture Report - IQAC

A guest lecture was organized on 21st Aug 2019 in AV Room at 7.20pm by the Department of Commerce for I B.Com A, B & C section students.

The first session was about life skills and the resource person was Dr. Kanishka, IQAC Coordinator and HOD of Business Administration. He started his talk by defining life skills as “a skill which enriches to manage one’s life effectively and efficiently.” He discussed the importance of physical appearance and body language in reflecting self-confidence and professionalism. He also spoke about the importance of effective communication. He highlighted various inter-personal skills that may help in interviews, and also shared the importance of individuals SWOC analysis. The session concluded with a vote of thanks offered by the students.

The second session was about examinations. The resource person was Mr. John Bosco, Controller of Examination, SJEC. He explained the CIA correction pattern and so on. Each course has both CIA and ESE with weightage in the ratio of 30:70. The minimum for pass in each subject is 40% of ESE and 40% aggregate in each subject and also he assisted about the revaluation provisions. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the students.
