Report of NSS Activities 2019-20 (June to September)

National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in St. Joseph's Evening College in 2017 as a part of the academic programmes. Since then, NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of our college education. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community is the activity through which the objective is sought to be achieved.
Following activities were organized by the NSS during the year (June – September 2019)

On 6th July 2019 NSS activities started with enrolment drive, wherein 50 students came out voluntarily to enroll themselves as NSS volunteers.
On 21st June 2019 Yoga day was celebrated by our NSS unit wherein more than 50 students took part in it and showed their interest towards being fit and healthy.
On 15th July 2019 orientation for all the 1st years was organized. They were oriented about the vision and mission of NSS.

From 16th July onwards our NSS volunteers were assigned duties like maintaining cleanliness in and around the college and controlling traffic after college hours every day.
On 26th July 2019 we NSS volunteers honored the soldiers who gave up their life in Kargil war. Students expressed their love and respect for our nation and our soldiers. We should always remember that we are living here peacefully because our soldiers protect us in the borders day and night from enemies.

On 3rd August 2019 cleanliness awareness programme was organized for all the NSS volunteers where Mr.Dav Fod Assistant Professor addressed the volunteers about cleanliness.
On 15th August 2019, Independence Day was celebrated in college for the first time in association with Hindi Parisad. All NSS volunteers took part in ground marching.
On August 30th 2019 rally on Cauvery calling campaign were organized, more than 30 NSS volunteers took active participation in the rally and also educated the public around the locality about the campaign of Cauvery calling.

On 26 August till 6 September 2019 our NSS volunteers Organized North Karnataka flood relief fund collection drive and collected funds for people of North Karnataka flood victims.
On 21st September 2019 NSS committee organized an awareness programme about waste segregation activity and educated the students about it and also there were NSS volunteers who took imitative to see that the wastes are segregated accordingly.
