St. Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous) organized an Orientation Programme for the MA Journalism and Mass Communication students on 5th July 2018 in the Loyola Hall. Students of JPS and EJP of all semesters attended it. The program started with a prayer. Sr. Saly Joseph, HOD, Department of Journalism, welcomed the guests onto the dais. Dr. Albert Smith, Principal, St. Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous), welcomed the staff and also introduced the new faculty Ms. Mala. He spoke about her achievements and experience in the stream of Journalism and Media, having completed her Masters in London. He also spoke about the importance of Journalism and Media, and the means to become an efficient journalist. Ms. Mala then spoke about her excitement on joining St. Joseph’s Evening College to teach Journalism. She spoke about her education and overall experience in the field. She also advised the students to take Journalism very sincerely and to have passion for writing. By sharing her experience, she encouraged the students toward the goal of being truthful and reporting in an unbiased manner. Sr. Saly concluded the orientation with a vote of thanks.
