Biography :
Mr.Prashanth Kumar works as an Assistant professor and HOD in the department of Economics at St. Joseph’s Evening College. He is also the coordinator of the department of Humanities at St. Joseph’s Evening College. He has worked as a part-time lecturer at St. Joseph’s College, Autonomous, Bengaluru during the academic years 2012 - 2013 and 2014-2015. He was also a part-time lecturer at St. Joseph’s College of Law from February, 2018 to June, 2019. Apart from the above teaching experience, He worked as an Assistant Director for the Karnataka Jesuit Youth Works from July 2011 to August, 2012. He has also worked for 2 MNCs namely Mphasis from February, 2006 to July 2009 and First American India Pvt Ltd from July 2009 to July, 2011. He acquired his B.A Degree from St. Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous) in 2009 and his Master Degree in Economics from Karnataka State Open University. Later, he pursued his B. Ed degree from Al-Ameen College of Education affiliated to Bangalore University in 2016. He cleared his KSET in 2014. Mr. Prashanth Kumar is also a life-skill trainer. He has visited more than 25 educational institutions across Karnataka and trained students on various life-skills.

He was awarded the best youth Animator for the year 2012 by Ignitors Association, a youth group managed by the Karnataka Jesuits. He is also a recipient of Best State Animator of AICUF Karnataka award for the year 2014 by All India Catholic University Federation in Karnataka (AICUF-Karnataka). He was conferred “Karnataka Catholic Yuva Rathna Award-2019’ by Karnataka Regional Catholic Bishop’s Council (Youth Commission) during Yuvajanothsava-2019 held in Bellary, Karnataka.
