The Harmony Club of St. Joseph’s Evening College hosted a Ramadan celebration on June 24, 2017, with the objective of upholding the message of communal harmony. Various posters and charts relating to Ramadan were displayed in the college premises.
The celebrations included a fifteen-minute program in which Mr. Mohamed Umer, Assistant Professor, Department of BBA, delivered a message on the need for charity and for being more human. There was a video presentation on Ramadan followed by a group song by Muslim students which created a divine atmosphere. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, delivered by Mr. Asif, III B.Com ‘A’.
The Ramadan celebration was a new experience for most of the students. It enabled them to understand the value of respecting other religions. The event also helped create a sense of belonging among the Muslim students.
