Report on Employability skills online programme organized by Placement Cell

The two days online employability skills programme was held on 3 rd and 4 th December, 2020 especially for the final year SJEC students between 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The programme was organized in association with Global Talent Track and Barclays. The event began with a short prayer and followed by Welcome address by Prof Leo Gladwin. Dr Priya, Vice Principal graced the occasion by delivering her speech on the importance of such programme and conveyed her wishes to all the facilitators and learners. Mr Arun Prasad, Trainer GTT, greeted everyone and thanked everyone for tuning into the programme. More than 200 students joined the session.

Mr Sufiyan III BBA, read the profile of the Ms Mythili, a trainer and resource person appointed for the Employability skills programme. Ms Mythili took over the session on the Day 1 beginning with the topics on resume building, body language, interview skills and online image. She also played videos and conducted activity on smile and body language. She concluded the day 1 session by discussing confidence and myths during the time of interview.

Ms Mythili on Day 2 covered the topics on self-awareness, Interview FAQs, Positive attitude, Values, Group discussion, Motivation, Teamwork and Grooming. She selected few volunteers for an activity ‘First Impression’; this enabled the students to learn about the perception. A motivational video was played of Nick Vujicic to inspire students that can help them to find opportunities through their weakness. The programme ended with Q and A session.

Many students expressed their feedback and learning outcome of the programme. Some students said that they feel more confident to face interviews and plan for career.
