Sinchana " - displays diverse Kannada talent

Kannada Sangha is an initiative to promote Kannada in St. Joseph’s Evening College (Autonomous). The main objective of Kannada Sangha is to improve the state of Kannada in the campus. The Sangha hopes to increase the number of people pursuing Kannada as a language. Like every year, the aim of Kannada Sangha is to make all Kannada speaking students a part of the Kannada Sangha. Only then can the students showcase their talent.

The Department of Kannada and the Kannada Sangha organised an inter-class competition called Sinchana from August 20th onwards. The week-long competition was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Albert Smith, and the HOD of Kannada Department and president of Kannada Sangha of SJEC, Dr. Mathew K.M.

The lecturers of other departments, the students of UG sections and also the volunteers of Kannada Sangha were present at the time of the inauguration. The volunteers organised various events which included essay writing, story writing, debate, collage making, pick and speak, quiz, and dumb-charades. Many students from UG and PG departments participated and won prizes. A debate competition was held on August 27th on the topic ‘In the name of westernization are we losing humanitarian values?’Students from different classes participated in this event and shared their views, opinions and thoughts.

The Kannada Sangha of SJEC is organizing a lot of activities in the campus to promote Kannada in St Joseph's Evening College (Autonomous), Bangalore.
