Biography :
Mr.DavFod, has been heading the epartment of sociology since 2009. During his teaching career, he has served as a visiting/ part-time faculty at St. Joseph’s Pre- University College, St. Joseph’s PU Evening College, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), St. Joseph’s Community College, St. Joseph’s College of Law and Pondicherry University Twinning Programme, apart from his work in St. Josephs Evening College under The Bangalore Jesuit Education Society. He has wide experience of teaching different sets of students ranging from Pre university programmes, under graduate to Post graduate programmes. He has handled papers in Sociology, Industrial Relations, Human ResourceManagement and Environmental Science.

As the Head of the department he has taken several initiatives to improve the quality of the teaching learning experience of students. He has initiated several guest lectures by inviting social workers, industry experts, legal experts and academicians to supplement class room teaching. He initiated field visits, cultural exposure and industrial visits through the humanities department. He played a significant role the conducting seminars and conference conducted by the department.

His contribution towards the college has also been noteworthy. He initiated the blood donors list which is a permanent feature of the college website. He started the OSSA (Out station Students Association) the association serves as a platform for students who are staying away from their homes and Paying Gusts or in Hostels to help each other during difficult times. He also streamlined the CBCS courses by making the selection process online and also coordinated the courses. He has steered the department through the 2nd and 3rd cycle of NAAC, as well as the review Boards sent by the UGC and Bangalore University to extend Autonomy. He has served as the Chairman of the BOS and BOE at St. Josephs Evening College as well as the member of BOS and BOE at St Joseph’s College; He has been on the panel of question paper setters at Jain University, and Jyothi Nivas College.

His contribution to the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society has also been much appreciated. He coordinated the foundation course offered to the BSc 5th semester students at St. Joseph’s College titled ‘Science Culture and Society’ for two consecutive years. He played a significant role in organizing seminars and conference held by the department of Sociology and Industrial relation, St. Josephs College Bengaluru. He helped in conducting the Ignitors Integral formation programme as a resource person on several occasions. He has served as an academic coordinator for the Pondichery University Twinning Programme for 4 consecutive years. He was designated as the Answer Paper Custodian for the PG exams conducted by-annually for the course and played a pivotal role in conducting error free exams for over 1800 students spanning 10 days.
