The Department of Hindi, St. Joseph’s Evening college organised Udbhav, an inter-
collegiate Hindi fest on the theme, ‘Ser Ya Sawa Ser’ on February 23, 2020. The chief
guest for the day was Dr. Ranjeet Kumar, a Hindi Trainer, visiting professor, and
Editor of Hindi Magazine.
Students from 12 different colleges such as Jyoti Nivas College, Surana College, St.
Joseph’s Commerce College, St. Joseph’s College and Christ Deemed to be
University participated in the fest. The fest celebrated Hindi culture by organising
various cultural events such as chanakya, translation, turn court, on stage events
included dil khol ke bol, Bollywood dhamaka, bech ke dikhao and online events such
as creative writing , Tiktok and book cover making. Over all trophy was bagged by
Jyoti Nivas College while the runners-up trophy went to St. Joseph’s Commerce
College.
The main aim of this fest was to showcase the cultural talent of students from
different colleges. “It was a great opportunity to be a part of this fest by co-ordinating
the events and make it a grand success,” said Komal Sharma, student coordinator of
Hindi Department at SJEC.
