Fr. Walter Stephen Andrade (78) passed away on August 26, 2020 at Fatima Retreat House in Mangaluru. He was a former principal of St. Joseph’s Evening College, St. Josephs College of Commerce in Bengaluru, and St. Aloysius Evening College, Mangaluru. He was a Jesuit for 53 years.

The funeral service was held on August 28, 2020 at 3:30pm at Divine Mercy Chapel, Fathima Retreat House, Jeppu, Mangaluru. The viewing was held from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. As a mark of respect towards the departed soul, second and third hour classes were called off on August 27.

Mr Nagaraj EM, HoD of Dept of Hindi remembered the late Fr Walter as a kind hearted Jesuit who was always ready to help. “Fr Walter helped needy students and staff, and because of this helping nature many students could complete their degree. He was the one who gave me my job. He was very fond of cricket and Rahul Dravid was his favourite,” said Mr Nagaraj.
